Double Porosity Models for Absolutely Rigid Body via Reiterated Homogenization

چکیده
Double porosity models for the liquid filtration in an absolutely rigid body is derived from homogenization theory. The governing equations of the fluid dynamics on the microscopic level consist of the Stokes system for a slightly compressible viscous fluid, occupying a crack – pore space. In turn, this domain is a union of two independent systems of cracks (fissures) and pores. We suppose that the dimensionless size δ of pores depends on the dimensionless size ε of cracks: δ = ε with r > 1. The rigorous justification is fulfilled for homogenization procedure as the dimensionless size of the cracks tends to zero, while the solid body is geometrically periodic. As a result, for the long-time process we derive the usual Darcy equations of filtration for the liquid in cracks, while the liquid in pores is blocked and unmoved. For the short-time processes the homogenized system consists of acoustic equations, describing a two-velocity continuum with three independent parameters: the liquid velocity in pores, the liquid velocity in cracks and the common pressure. The proofs are based on the method of reiterated homogenization, suggested by G. Allaire and M. Briane.

Double Porosity Models for Liquid Filtration in Incompressible Poroelastic Media
Double porosity models for the liquid filtration in a naturally fractured reservoir is derived from the homogenization theory. The governing equations on the microscopic level consist of the stationary Stokes system for an incompressible viscous fluid, occupying a crack-pore space (liquid domain), and stationary Lame equations for an incompressible elastic solid skeleton, coupled with correspon...
متن کاملHomogenization in Sobolev Spaces with Nonstandard Growth: Brief Review of Methods and Applications
We review recent results on the homogenization in Sobolev spaces with variable exponents. In particular, we are dealing with the Γ-convergence of variational functionals with rapidly oscillating coefficients, the homogenization of the Dirichlet and Neumann variational problems in strongly perforated domains, as well as double porosity type problems. The growth functions also depend on the small ...
متن کاملDerivation of the Double Porosity Model of Single Phase Flow via Homogenization Theory*
A general form of the double porosity model of single phase flow in a naturally fractured reservoir is derived from homogenization theory. The microscopic model consists of the usual equations describing Darcy flow in a reservoir, except that the porosity and permeability coefficients are highly discontinuous. Over the matrix domain, the coefficients are scaled by a parameter representing the s...
متن کاملHomogenization of Discrete High-Contrast Energies
Variational theories of double-porosity models can be derived by homogenization of high-contrast periodic media (see [12]). Typically, we have one or more strong phases (i.e., uniformly elliptic energies on periodic connected domains) and a weak phase with a small ellipticity constant, coupled with some lower-order term. In the simplest case of quadratic energies, this amounts to considering en...
متن کاملA variational approach to double-porosity problems
In this paper we outline an approach by Γ-convergence to some problems related to ‘double-porosity’ homogenization. Various such models have been discussed in the mathematical literature, the first rigorous result for a linear double-porosity model having been obtained by Arbogast, Douglas and Hornung in [7]. The two-scale convergence approach to double-porosity problems was developed by Allair...
